To date this covers Sunday Trading which was a successful campaign in 2006, and the Grocery Market, which was brought to a conclusion on 30th April 2008. The two main recommendations to come from the Competition Commission in the findings of the inquiry were to appoint a Grocery Ombudsman and that Government should make changes to planning policy to make it harder for large supermarkets to build in an area where there is a store os similar size already.
