The administrator has now given the following assurances:
• Providing the last invoice owed to Dawson’s is paid all credits returned via Smiths and Menzies will be paid in full to retailers by the administrator, at the full credit value, they will not be caught up in any pro rata distribution of assets to any other creditors.
• The payment will be paid to retailers weekly either by a reverse BACS payment, if the original account was paid by DD, or by a cheque.
• Returns will continue to be collected on a weekly basis by Smiths and Menzies over the products natural life cycle for the next 8 weeks, at the end of which all titles supplied by Dawson’s and not yet returned will be recalled. • Deposits – all deposits owed to retailers will be returned providing that retailers have settled their outstanding accounts with Dawson’s.
